Images for Meditation


The artist wishes to thank the Ucross Foundation as part of the Marion International Fellowship for their generosity in providing time, space, and support for the creation of these collages and many other parts of the Neo-Quietism project.

MEDITATION Exercise
1. Choose one of the images to use for your meditation.
2. Sit or stand comfortably and relax while looking at the image. 
3. Get ready by taking a few relaxed in-breaths and out-breaths. 
4. Start by concentrating on any color, shape, or line within the image for one in-breath and one out-breath.
5. Then move on to an adjacent color, shape, or line for the next in-breath and out-breath.
6. Move through the whole image by moving from each color, shape, or line to the next with each in-breath and out breath.
7. Recognize that other thoughts may come, acknowledge them and let them go, bringing your focus back to the image.
8. Move through the entire image in this way until you have looked at each part of the image.
